We present this 2.5l sterilised rye grain bags (2.5l volume - 1.6kg weight), a perfect substrate to be inoculated with enteogenic or edible mushrooms spores. It is now available in our catalogue at Alchimia Grow Shop.
Before use, we first have to disinfect the working area and the rye bag using a cloth moistened with alcohol. We put on gloves and mask throughout the process.

Once disinfected, we proceed to inoculate the grain using a spore syringe to which we also sterilise the needle using a torch or lighter.
Then we puncture the bag inoculation area with the needle, first removing the protective tape, and withdraw the liquid from the spore syringe. Once completed, we cover the area again with the protective tape.
We can use between 10-20ml liquid spores (one or two syringes of same mushroom variety). By using more liquid faster we will get the whole grain covered with mycelium.

Then, the bag is gently shaken in order to distribute the liquid with mushroom spores all over the grains, thus facilitating a homogeneous colonization.
Finally the bag is stored in a dark place with a temperature of around 30ºC for 2-3 weeks, until it is observed that the mycelium has colonised most of the substrate.
At this point we can use the grain with mycelium to prepare mushroom breads, leaving them to fructificate using a container with a ventilation system, vermiculite and perlite in a bag or mini-greenhouse.
