Australian Bastard Cannabis, IBL or Landrace strain
Australian Bastard Cannabis also known as ABC or Bindi Buds is a Cannabis australis or Aussie cannabis strain. This variety was first recorded in Australia in the 70s.
Australian Bastard Cannabis is an IBL strain, with a peculiar growth and a morphology very different from the Sativa varieties known today. Some experts believe it is an Australian landrace and evolved through hybridisation with some introduced strains before the 70s. However, this is still speculation, and its origin is uncertain.
Australian Bastard Cannabis, a non-cannabis looking strain
Australian Bastard Cannabis is a mutant strain obtained from a seed exchange from Nomad Seeds. It produces leaves with a very different trait, lobed and small. It certainly looks nothing like a cannabis plant. It is an ideal variety to go unnoticed, in guerrilla or balconies.
Its aromas are very discreet, a mixture of fresh fennel, lemon and pine. The aromas are perceptible only smelled very closely, not perceived within a few meters. In addition to these features, it also offers an indoor flowering period of about 8-10 weeks, while outdoor flowering is much quicker than commercial strains, with the harvest ready in September.
Australian Bastard Cannabis presents a wide range of possibilities, as it is an ideal strain also for all those growers who want to experiment with crossing plants or for breeding projects. Definitely a great tool for hybridising.
