Critical marijuana is definitely one of the most cultivated and popular cannabis strains in Europe over the past two decades.
Its origins date back to the late 1990s, when Shantibaba and Nevil Schoenmakers founded the Mr Nice seed bank. They embarked on the development of new hybrids that quickly revolutionised the cannabis market.
This is how Critical Mass was born. It was an improved Big Bud version, which at that time was the reference of a maximum production variety. Critical Mass was the result of a cross between an Afghan strain and a Skunk line, a spectacular variety that combined all the qualities that one could possibly wish in a marijuana plant: fast and easy cultivation, very generous yield and, most importantly, a harvest quality far from enviable compared to other less productive varieties.
Based on this success, Critical quickly exceeded the borders and conquered Europe. Clone selections like the famous Critical Bilbo clone definitely launched it. Although a little less productive than the more generous Critical Mass, Bilbo has a very fast flowering cycle and particularly an unforgettable fruity, floral and sweet aroma.
Critical has been used by many breeders to create all kinds of hybrids. It easily transfers its qualities, like shortening the Sativa lines flowering or offering an intense flavour and higher production to the Indica lines.
We can find Critical in its classic form, or from Critical + by Dinafem to Kritical Bilbo by Genehti. Also as a CBD rich variety with CBD Critical Mass, autoflowering with Auto Critical lines, Sativa with Critical Haze, etc. Certainly all growers will find their desired Critical and will obtain incredible results!
