The gas flavours produced by some cannabis families are very popular among many consumers in the US. It is also one of the most sought-after flavours in Europe, with a growing number of followers thanks to the varieties coming from the other side of the pond.
In this TAG we bring together all the genetics with the gas terpene profile.
The precursors plants of the gas terpene, also known as gassy (in US), usually have their origin in the well-known Diesel family, with genetics such as Chemdog, Sourdiesel and some OG hybrids standing out.
In most cases, this terpene profile is associated with a high THC content. It is also associated with a powerful and very relaxing effect typical of the most Indica strains with high therapeutic value. These strains are in great demand by growers with a high cannabis tolerance.
The gas aroma in cannabis can be included in the group of combustible aromas, derived from petroleum. It is considered a multi-layered terpene as in most cases it is accompanied by other nuances in flavours and aromas.
Together with the gas terpene, there is a certain chemical combustible influence like petrol. Also, a predominance of the more organic petroleum component. There is also very noticeable fermenting onion or boletus-like mushroom aromas. But in most cases, it is accompanied by a sweet, earthy, sour aroma... due to its multi-layered composition.
