Mandala 1, from Mandala Seeds, was created for those countries or regions with short warm seasons.
This fast flowering strain combines the benefits of a strong landrace genetics with a very resinous hybrid offering the grower plants with high quality buds. This crossing has an early flowering period, ensuring an abundant yield in September; even if circumstances like bad climate force us to advance the harvest, all buds - even not being 100% mature -, will have a satisfactory amount of resin covering them.
Mandala 1 has two basic phenotypes (characteristic of this marijuana strain).
Approximately 30% of the plants come from a mainly sativa phenotype. They grow as a christmas tree with branches extending upwards. The shape of the leafs is similar to the Indica phenotype. Violet leafs and subtle pinky veins along the inflorescence are normal and should not make you think that there is something wrong with your nutrition program. Young plants have, when flowering, a perfumed woody-herbal fragrance when branches are rubbed. As the sativa pheno predominates the plants are compact and easy to grow.
The Indica phenotype is quickly visible, thanks to its compact growth with a thick main stem and larger leaves. Branches are shorter, growing upwards and making the plant thinner. Side branches are also short so their buds are more dense. This phenotype tends to develop a sweet and spicy smell during early flowering.
Mandala1 flowers develop a central bud of considerable size, which gives this plant a bountiful harvest. Resin production is impressive even in outdoor crops.
The first buds are covered with a dense layer of trichomes that glisten brightly in the sunlight. Some of these plants will develop wonderful dark purple calyxes at mid-flowering.
Harvest is very simple since leaf-bud ratio is high in both phenotypes.
Mandala1 is also a good indoors choice because of its quick harvest and also for its sativa touch. One of our goals has been to ensure the stability and adaptability of this hybrid, so that plants can be grown indoors, in any type of substrate, and also to lessen the stress from a change in artificial light and sunlight . You can even begin growing the plant indoors and then taking it outdoors for flowering.
Cloning and regenerating Mandala # 1 is simple **, as this strain has a high proportion of indigenous genetics, allowing it to adapt to any circumstance and to grow in nutrient poor soils.
Plants grow easily in any container suitable for gardening and require little care. We recommend using an adequate pot size for a healthy growth. The plant height is average, even the sativa phenotype, can be accommodated in small spaces without problems if the 12 hour photoperiod is started immediately. A Sea of Green (SOG) is better with the indica phenotype, or with cuttings of both phenos. All plants are suitable for SCROG and pruning techniques.
* The observed flavor has been achieved using organic soil during the growing period.
** For best results, we recommend regenerating the flowering plant as quickly as possible at 22-24 hours of light until fresh leaves have 5 fingers again.
