This onion belongs to the liliaceous family (Allium cepa). The onions are thick, intensely white in colour and covered with several layers of brownish-copper skin. It has a thick neck and abundant foliage in the aerial part.
It should be germinated between December and February. The soil is prepared by removing de weeds, turning over the substrate and enriching it with worm humus, compost or cured manure. In this way the plants have all necessary nutrients available in a soil with a proper texture.
The tape with seeds is cut to the desired length and placed in the furrow where the onions are cultivated. Then water abundantly to impregnate the paper and facilitate its dissolution in the substrate. Cover it with 1cm of soil and water it again, making sure to keep the substrate moist.
