Sakure Cannabis Strain: Bubba Kush Katsu x Wookie #15
For this hybrid, Bodhi chose to use the Katsu cut of Bubba Kush as the mother, an Afghani Indica hashplant of great reputation. It produces ball-shaped, rock hard buds, with great resin coverage. The flavour profile is sweet and earthy with rich notes of chocolate and coffee, typically Afghan in character. The effect is highly medicinal and physically relaxing, offering relief from stress, pain and insomnia.
The other side of the cross is one of Bodhi's special males, Wookie #15, selected for the desirable attributes it passes to its offspring. It is an indica-dominant hybrid of Soma Seeds' Lavender and Appalachia, which is another of Bodhi's famous male selections. Wookie stands out for its fast flowering, high resin production and its powerful aromas of sour grapefruit and fresh lavender.

Sakure from Bodhi Seeds is a mostly Indica hybrid and the plants develope a short, stocky stucture with very little stretch, making them highly suitable for indoor cultivation, although they will need a slightly longer period of vegetative growth to get a good yield. Some plants will be ready after 7 weeks flowering while others will need 9 weeks to fully finish. Sakure also gives good results when grown outdoors in dry, warm climates, and in greenhouses in areas where the weather can be wet in late summer.
The flavour profile of Sakure is very strong, with sweet and sour cherry and berry flavours in some phenotypes, while others are more acrid and pungent, with savoury notes of cheese and onion. The effects can vary depending on the phenotype with the green plants generally being more sedative and relaxing, ideal for late night before bed, while the plants with purple flowers tend to offer a more active, cerebral and sociable high.
