Aficionado French Connection proudly presents Skunk #1 IBL, an Old School line with a very special history, carefully preserved since 1974 and now at last available at Alchimia as Limited Edition regular seeds.
Aficionado French Connection Limited Edition Skunk #1 IBL 1974
Arguably one of the most well-known and widely-cultivated strains since the earliest days of cannabis hybrids, Skunk #1 was introduced in 1969, and is the result of a three-way cross: Afghani , Acapulco Gold , and Colombian Gold.
Over the years and at the hands of breeders like Sam Skunkman who worked with Skunk #1, it has been worked and stabilised to become the line we know today, a fast and productive hybrid with a strong Colombian Gold influence.
This inbred line (IBL) offered by Aficionado French Connection was originally sourced from a batch of seeds found in 1974 in a compressed brick of Skunk #1 imported from the USA by the organisation known as French Connection or Corsican Connection then cultivated and reproduced to offer you this variety in form of regular seeds..
Skunk #1 IBL 1974, an old school Skunk with Indica character
This Skunk line was carefully preserved before being further selected and stabilised during the 1980s and 90s, creating a plant with a character that's closer to the Afghan landrace than to the Colombian, with some specimens even being very close to an Afghani landrace.
Skunk #1 IBL 1974 produces stocky plants, highly resistant to pests and pathogens with a fast flowering time, and can be harvested after 55 days of flowering indoors, or at the end of September outdoors.
The aroma of Skunk #1 is complex and intense, with chemical notes reminiscent of linoleum or turpentine, while its effect is deeply relaxing.
Skunk #1 IBL 1974 is the perfect strain to take you on a journey through time to discover forgotten flavours, as well as for undertaking home breeding projects to bring new characteristics to our favourite cannabis mother plants.
