Alchimiaweb presents the EBB&GROW hydroponic system, developed by General Hydroponics Europe and now marketed under the Terra Aquatica brand, which works on the principles of ebb and flow cultivation.
The system created by GHE is very easy to use and thus suitable for bovice and experienced growers who want to get the most out of their plants. A growing tray is mounted onto a nutrient solution reservoir. An irrigation pump brings the water to the growing tray, which drains away when the pump stops.
The grower must set the irrigation cycles and the time between them with a timer (not included). If you want cycles of less than 15 minutes we recommend to use a digital timer. The lenght of these cycles mainly depend on:
- Growing medium
- Environmental conditions
- Plants stage
You can use any type of container (material, shape, sieze) and growing medium (rockwool, clay pebbles, coco coir, soil, etc.). You can even use it without pots, just filling the growing tray with, for example, 60% clay pebbles and 40% coco coir. When it rises, the water removes the saturated air in the root area; when it drains, it brings fresh air into it, providing explosive growth of the roots.
Its design avoids any type of leakage or overflow, being very easy to clean.
