"Fast Version" cannabis seeds are F1 hybrids combining auto-flowering and photo-dependent genetics, resulting in offspring that remain photoperiod-sensitive, but that will mature around 1-2 weeks earlier than their fully photo-dependent parent, thanks to the influence of the Ruderalis auto-flowering trait.
These seeds are perfect for guerrilla growers who want to get their outdoor crop harvested as early as possible. With Fast Versions, cultivators can have the best characteristics of both types of genetics, combining the hybrid vigour of photoperiod seeds with the fast flowering times of automatic plants. This enables outdoor growers to pull off big harvests ahead of time, not only beating the bad weather in early autumn but also making sure they keep one step ahead of nosey neighbours, prying police or thieves.
F1 Fast Versions, also branded as Early Versions by some seed banks, are great for indoor cultivation too, as they offer greater control over the duration, height and yield of the crop than auto-flower genetics because we can provide as much vegetative growth as needed before switching into flower, where they show their real advantage. The influence of the Ruderalis genetics means that the earliest examples will be ready to harvest in 6 weeks, with the latest varieties taking up to 8 weeks, thus giving indoor growers the possibility of more harvests each year than normal photo-dependent varieties.
As well as these Fast or Early versions that incorporate autoflowering genetics to speed up flowering, there also exists another, distinct class of "Early" genetics offered by three companies in particular: Sensi Seeds, Philosopher Seeds and Mr Nice Seedbank. These seeds don't contain any Ruderalis genetics, they're just really, really fast-flowering and offer the same advantages to outdoor and indoor growers as F1 Fast Versions, so we've included them here too. Have fun choosing the strain for you!
