Holà,
Thanks for your reply.
Well, I'm no expert but it's far from being my first mycelium cake to play with and on this one I can tell than whoever told you that does not know what they're saying. The layer of vermiculite is such that it does nothing else than smothering the mycelium and actually prevent the mushrooms to fruit, hence doing so only ont he side where the mycelium can breathe.
Underneath the mycelium bread is a rather thick layer of vermiculite, which is not a problem in itself, except by the volume it takes. Add it to the volume of vermiculite and you end up with a myselium cake that is about the equivalent of 600-700ml, quite far from the 1200ml the cake is claimed to be at the top of this page. I think there's a legal term for that...
Wow, not only you don't get what is claimed you'll get, but the little you get is actually sabotaged. That's a twisted business model if you ask me.

Hi Aymeric,
Well, since it is obvious that your are more experienced than I am with regard to growing mushrooms...do you think it would be worth it to remove the vermiculite of one of these kits and test results? We're constantly testing new strains and brands, it wouldn't be much trouble. I guess contamination could be an issue, but perhaps we'd increase yields?
Thanks a lot for your feedback mate, we really appreciate it. I'm going to write an email to Setnatur with your thoughts and also our results after testng different brands.
