TWIN Controller is the Cli-Mate Intake and Extractor Fan Controller. We have 2 versions: control by temperature only, or by temperature and humidity.

I’ve already opened the one that has control over temperature and I’m also going to open the one that controls humidity. We opened the box, here are the instructions and if I take the unit out of its box you'll see that physically the difference is that this one, on my right, has 4 knobs and this has 3. This will have control in the grow tent over temperature and humidity. Let's see how it works on our set.

We’ve set up the humidity control version of the Cli-Mate Twin Controller in the grow tent. We’ve simply plugged the intake fan in one side and the extractor in the other, and now we’ll see how it works. That's why we have Edu with us.

Edu, we see there are 2 connection parts. Intake part, extract part, with 2 switches above, right?

EDU - Right. The Twin Controller has got the ability to control independently and separately the air intake and extraction. As we can see, on the left side we have the "On", "Off" and "100%" button. Basically, the "On" setting controls according to our settings, the "Off" no device would work and "100%"means that regardless of the configuration, the devices always work at 100%.

We’re going to imagine that we are working under normal conditions, so we’re going to have both intake and extraction in the "On" position. The biggest parameter to control that I see here, this knob, is for the temperature, right?

EDU - Correct. The temperature is the element that’s essential to optimize the grow, in this case to set a temperature between 24 and 26ºC would be correct

EDU - and with the intake, in this case the knob on the left of the panel, here we would regulate the intensity of the intake fan, that is, if we want more or less power.

But this is under normal and minimal conditions, right?

EDU - Right!

Here we control the minimum power that will be working in the tent, both in this and in extraction in another one, which is here on the right…

EDU - That's right. And in the case of exceeding the set temperature, the intake and extraction fans would go up to the maximum, which would be 100%.

The goal is to get the cabinet temperature to what we want here. Therefore, under normal conditions it’ll be working to the minimum that we set, and when necessary will work to the maximum.

EDU - That's right, it works at 100% only when necessary.

There is also a control of what we call negative pressure and humidity control…

EDU - The negative pressure is about not allowing odours to escape from the tent, that is, there is never more intake than extraction. In this way, we can automatically regulate the intake and extractor fan capacity, without having the smell escape.

Perfect. It is more a measure of security, that we do not input more air than we can get out because then the air would come out through the zippers and the closet windows.

EDU - That's right.

And then the humidity control, which is similar to temperature, right?

EDU - Correct, we have 2 parameters. So if we have one of the parameters that is correct and the other isn’t, the temperature controller would be activated to reduce the parameter that is not in accordance with the settings…

The temperature is clear. In this case it would be, if the humidity is higher than we’ve set, it’ll draw in and extract air to try to eliminate humidity.

EDU - Right. That’s it.

This is the probe that will read the actual temperature in the grow, it goes through a 4m cable connected to the equipment and you can put it anywhere in the tent.
