Alozaina Melon, not very demanding with the substrate
Alozaina melon (Cucumis melo) originates in Malaga, southern Spain. It is a crawling plant that requires certain irrigation conditions during the vegetative and ripening stages in order to obtain a quality fruit and a good production. It does not tolerate water stress or waterlogging. This variety is not very demanding with the substrate, but it benefits from soils rich in organic matter, deep and with good drainage. It does not like the use of fertilisers, although it tolerates them, but this may result in a lower production.
Organic Alozaina Melon, very sweet and aromatic
Alozaina melon plant has a very good growth vigour, it is recommended a sufficient cultivation perimeter due to its crawling nature. It produces good sized fruits of striped skin with a cream-coloured interior and a sweet and aromatic aroma. At harvest time, it should be noted that the Alozaina melon has a yellow underside and pilosities are noticeable when touched.
It is advisable to sow directly in spring, or to plant in an alveoli tray. A minimum distance of 1 m should be left between plants.
