With pH levels that are too acidic or too alkaline the roots will not be able to absorb the nutrients. This causes nutritional deficiencies that impact on the final production.

It is said that in organic cultivation this factor is less important than in coconut or soilless cultivation. But whatever the type of substrate and nutrition, with inadequate pH levels the plants will not develop correctly and will present macro and micronutrient deficiencies.
