Martine Schachtel, former nurse, is the author of "Cannabis sur ordonnance", a 148-page book in french language about the positive effects of cannabis in her sister Alice - who suffers from lung cancer - during the last months of her life.
Despite chemotherapy sessions, Alice's disease progressed. Her sisters had only one thing in mind, which was finding a relief for Alice's pains and anguish.
Doctors prescribed her high doses of morphine, but this drug leaved Alice completely sedated. At that moment, they tried to give Alice cannabis cakes and, after several days taking 3-4 small cakes every day, Alice was finally able to smile again!
In this way, Martine became a first hand testimony of the beneficial properties of cannabis, asking herself: why isn't cannabis legalized in France so all these poeple who are suffering can see their pains relieved?
The book denounces the hypocrisy of the current medicinal system, opening the debate of the therapeutical use of cannabis , which can help patients to improve their overal health status.
