Nicotiniana tabacum
Tobacco is a very versatile plant. Cultivated in the garden it can be very beneficial, acting as a trap plant, attracting different insects that are harmful to the crop. Its leaves can be used to make insecticides, thanks to the alkaloids they contain, nicotine and anabasine.
As an ornamental plant, it is a very attractive, with large and thin green leaves. When in flower, it produces beautiful clusters of white flowers.
This tobacco variety is used to elaborate the popular "Señoritas cigars".
