Metki White Armenian Cucumber is a variety that thrives particularly well in warm regions, offering a generous harvest of long, slender, elongated and often slightly curved fruits. For an optimal taste experience, it is recommended to consume them before they reach a length of 40cm. To cultivate these cucumbers, either plant them in pots or in open ground. The seeds can be sown in pots at a temperature between 18 and 20°C, about 6 weeks before planting outdoors. After the last frost, the plants can be transplanted with their root ball into compost-enriched planting holes about 1 metre apart. Direct sowing in open ground is also possible under similar conditions, when the soil is warm, and the outdoor temperature does not drop below 15°C.
The sowing period under shelter is from March to May, while sowing in the open ground can be done from April to June. Metki White Armenian cucumber can be harvested from June to October, thus offering a long tasting period.
These cucumber plants prefer a sunny environment and have a medium water requirement. They thrive in sandy and humic soils, preferably cool and loose.
Metki white Armenian cucumber is characterised by its elongated shape, crunchy texture and colour varying from white to light green. Plants reach a size of 60-100cm in height, with fruits that can measure 50-100cm. The plant is crawling, which means that it can spread out and requires adequate space to grow. With a mid-season earliness, this variety offers a succulent harvest in the middle of the growing season.
