As a typical Mediterranean plant, it requires a lot of sun and little watering; excessive watering can hinder its development. It can be cultivated in pots or on a growing table as long as the substrate is well drained.
It is an aromatic plant with an intense flavour. It is a well-known seasoning in the kitchen and has medicinal properties. It is an antioxidant, antiseptic and antimicrobial, consumed as an infusion it helps to relieve flus and colds.
