Alchimia presents Pansy seeds by Rocalba, an herbaceous European plant that develops flowers with five velvety petals of various and striking colours.
Its edible flowers taste like mint, which can be substituted in mojitos and desserts. Rocalba expresses that it can be used as a decorative element in green salads and pâté. The crystallised flowers are used to decorate cakes, biscuits and creamy desserts.
Pansies are usually planted in spring or autumn, keeping the specimens 1-2 weeks in the nursery to prevent the plant from not surviving. It reaches a size of about 15-25 cm and is ideal for adding a little colour to the garden in times when there are no other flowering plants, as it flowers from autumn to early/mid spring.
It is a plant with multiple beneficial properties, such as helping in the treatment of respiratory and skin problems, joint pains or circulatory disorders.
