SOG or Sea Of Green is a farming technique based on the optimization of the grow space, in which a large number of plants is used per square meter in order to increase production without wasting time in growing large plants. Thus, the short duration of the crop allows the grower to have 4 or 5 crops per year.
The number of plants used mainly depends on the available space. Normally, around 30-36 plants are grown per square meter, with a very short growth stage depending on the chosen genetics.
Proper pruning of the lower parts of the plant highly increases bud development on the tops, which results in huge main buds.
Cannabis cultivation in SOG is fast and productive
Indeed, a prolonged growth period is not needed if we want small plants with a single main bud, where the production of the plant will be focused.
Thus, with this technique we don't need large pots but to fill the entire grow space with small pots and plants.
Feel free to read our article on the SOG method for more details on this technique. Here you have a list of cannabis strains perfectly suited to this one-bud cultivation system. All these varieties tend to produce a large central cola with few side branches.
