Information on La Niña
La Niña seeds by Mr. Nice Seeds are the ideal choice if you're looking for an old-school sativa with modern reliability: hybrid vigour, fast flowering and floral flavours with a hint of incense. Born from the work of Neville Schoenmakers and Shantibaba, they stand out for their balance of mental clarity and consistent production. Perfect for indoors and outdoors, it responds very well to pruning and net growing. If you want genetics with history, yield and personality, La Niña is a safe bet.
Haze × Black Widow genetics: Mr. Nice's authority for La Niña seeds
La Niña combines a selected Haze with Black Widow (Shantibaba's famous White Widow line). This cross brings the elegant structure and cerebral punch of classic Haze and balances it with the thick resin and floral density of Black Widow. The result is a strain with a sativa-dominant profile, but more manageable than many pure Haze strains: moderate internodes, restrained flowering and continuous colas. Compared to market alternatives, La Niña offers a very strong aromatic identity (floral-incense-sweet) and a batch-to-batch consistency typical of Mr. Nice's work. A genetics with pedigree for collectors and demanding growers.
Growing indoors and outdoors: how to squeeze the potential out of La Niña
Indoors, La Niña is suitable for medium height grow tents thanks to its controlled stretch. We recommend SCROG or SOG with 7 - 11 L pots, guiding the branches to take advantage of the light. It responds wonderfully to LST and early apical pruning to homogenise the canopy. In aerated organic substrate, with moderate watering and progressive EC, you can expect flowering in 60 - 70 days from switching to 12/12 and yields of 450 - 550 g/m² with a wall of frosty colas. Its resistance to powdery mildew and botrytis is medium-high if you keep good ventilation and humidity under control (45-55% in the final weeks).
Outdoors, it likes temperate and Mediterranean climates. With good hours of sunshine and deep soil, it forms branched plants of 1.8 - 2.5m. Harvest comes in early-mid October in the northern hemisphere. To maximise yield, we suggest discreet trellising, selective leaf removal to improve aeration and a balanced fertiliser plan( moderateN at the start of flowering and P-K boost from the 4th week). Under optimal conditions, it is realistic to cut 600 - 800 g per plant. It is a grateful genetics for well-advised beginners, yet reactive enough for an advanced grower to take it a step further with high yielding techniques.
Floral aroma and incense with a clean, bright effect: the character of La Niña
The bouquet of La Niña combines white flowers, incense and a sweet-creamy background inherited from Black Widow. When dry, floral and resinous notes predominate; when combusted or vaporised, nuances of hardwood and mild spices appear. The effect is clear, social and creative: it starts with a bright cerebral boost and maintains a comfortable body, without heaviness, ideal for active days, creative sessions or moments of focus. It is a strain with a classic sativa personality, but without the anxiety that sometimes accompanies more nervous phenotypes. Aroma and effect that fits into a conscious and functional lifestyle.
