It sounds like it's got stuck, I would try giving it a bit of a knock with a solid piece of wood or even a hammer - not so hard as to damage anything but enough to dislodge the piece that's jammed/stuck. There's a certain amount of play/movement on these presses which means that they can get stuck if everything isn't aligned perfectly. If that doesn't work, let us know, please.I hope that helps.

How many grams are an averge size puck? thanks

Hi JC, thanks for your question. To be honest, there's no such thing as an average sized puck. It really depends on how much hash you want to press at one time. According to the manufacturer it's designed to make 100g pucks, but you could definitely press smaller quantities in there, no problem at all.

Hi Amy,
Without the valve you won't be able to apply/release pressure. I'm sorry, but we don't have spare parts. I'd try at some hardware store, I don't think it'll be difficult to find!
