Transcription of video tutorial of the Alchimia Stucco Reflector :
We’re going to learn how to connect our Alchimia Stucco Reflector to a ballast, and also to an energy-saving bulb…
Our Stucco reflector is one of the simplest to install on the market. Why? Because it comes with the cable already fitted. A cable to connect directly with the majority of ballasts on the market. The Plug & Play cable that comes with the reflector, the Male connects to the Female on the ballast, or nearly all the ballasts on the market.
Simply connecting, we take the bulb, in this case a High Pressure Sodium bulb (it can also be a Metal Halide), and we screw it into the bulb holder of the Alchimia Stucco. By simply connecting the ballast to the electrical supply, we’ve set up the reflector. You’ll have seen how in a few seconds we’ve already got the grow-light up and running. Now we’ll see how we fit the same reflector with a low-energy bulb.
To do this, we’re going to change the fitted cable, the Plug & Play, for a normal plug like this to connect directly to the mains. What we need to do, before anything else, is to open the connection box of the Stucco reflector.
We’ve removed the 4 screws, we take the lid off, and we can see the connection strip. What we need to do is see which is the Plug & Play cable, and unscrew it…
We turn it over to unscrew the cable with this lock nut, let’s remove it. Take this piece and the nut that we’re going to use for the new cable, in this case with mains plug. First put on the lock nut and the cable stop, and insert the cable in the hole to the connection box. Now we can tighten the nut, so it holds the cable firmly, once that’s done, now we’re going to wire up the connection strip.
Let’s find the darkest cable, which we’ll connect the brown, in this case it’s the Live wire. We simply insert it in the terminal strip and tighten, in this case with a flat-head screwdriver. We’re going to do the same with the Earth wire, which is yellow/green and the Neutral, which is blue…
We’ve put the lid back on the connection box, and turned the Stucco around, all that’s left is to take the energy-saving bulb and screw it into the bulb holder. Once connected, now just plug into the 220v mains and we’ve got our Stucco working with a low energy CFL bulb.
As you can see, it’s very simple, Alchimia Stucco... at www.alchimiaweb.com !!
