Today I’m going to talk about a simple vaporiser for resins, the ATMOS Kiln RA.
Let's see what the kit contains. We’ve got the ATMOS Kiln RA box, opening the box we first see our resin vaporiser which, as you can see, is tiny and quite versatile. And underneath there’s a box with accessories and instructions in English.
What's in the accessories box? Well, let’s see. On one side we have the typical USB charger cable, one end for the power supply and on the other end the micro USB to connect to the vaporiser down here, perfect. What else do we have? There’s a small dabber to handle the resin, with a silicone sleeve, and some replacement toroidal rings that seal the joints, and a small Allen key and a few small screws that serve to change the atomiser.
This small ATMOS resin vaporiser is made up of 3 parts. A battery type electronic cigarette, in this case 950 milliamps, has a 510 thread, one of the common threads for e-cigarettes. Indeed, this vaporiser works just like an electronic cigarette, this is the lower part that as you have seen, twists and unscrews easily.
It has the upper part, which is the nozzle and at the same time the opening for the atomiser, or in this case, the bowl for extractions. Now we’re going to load this bowl and see how the vaporiser works, you’ll see how simple it is. We take some resin, in this case BHO from our silicone pot, using the dabber we’ll place it into the atomiser. Not much, a small sample… and we take the mouthpiece and simply pushing together we replace it. The vaporiser is ready to start.
To start it: push the button 5 times quickly 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. It flashes 3 times meaning that the vaporiser is running and ready to vaporise. Simply by pressing the button and inhaling, we will be vaporising. Let's try, press and inhale…
Just a little toke, not very long, the atomiser, in fact the vaporiser stops after more than 15 seconds inhaling, to protect the internal electronics and the atomiser. The manufacturer recommends vaping for 5, 6, 7 seconds, to suit each individual. And that's it, we'll simply turn it off again by pressing the button again 5 times. It flashes 3 times and we have the vaporiser ready for the next session.
One of the advantages of this small vaporiser is that if you need to you can change the atomiser inside, either because the resistance is burned, dirty or worn. Simply extracting this part, we see that the atomiser is exposed. Then here next to it there are Allen screws, very small, that we will have to unscrew with the Allen key in the box.
There are also replacement screws because, as you can see, they are very small and easily lost. Once this fits well here… ok, we undo the screws and take out the piece so we can replace it with another one. Just like that.
We take a new atomiser just like the one we removed and place it on the terminals. And now it’s as simple as tightening screws and replacing the mouthpiece.
