Alchimia presents the Black Plum Tomato by Kokopelli, a variety with origins in Russia. It produces bunches of grape-type tomatoes resistant to cracking. It can be grown both outdoors and in greenhouses. It is a vigorous bush that can reach a large size.
Black Plum Tomato, grape-type tomato
This Russian tomato variety, also known as Russian Black Plum, is an indeterminate, large-sized plant that begins production in June in the Northern Hemisphere. It adapts to almost any type of soil, though it prefers those with a high concentration of organic matter and good drainage. The Black Plum tomato responds very well to greenhouse cultivation, producing oval, dark-coloured fruits that grow in clusters, resembling grapes. The tomatoes weigh approximately 60g, with reddish-brown flesh. Under water stress, they demonstrate good resistance to cracking.
It is recommended to plant the seedlings once the risk of frost has passed, maintaining a 50cm distance between plants during transplanting.
