Information on Double D
Double D, also known as Danky Doodle, is a feminized variety from K.C. Brains with sativa dominance. It has a mild and slightly spicy aroma that gains intensity during flowering and a THC content between 15% and 20%, with a powerful effect. It's ideal for growers looking for a robust sativa, easy to manage and capable of producing large-sized buds both indoors and outdoors.
Genetics: Viking and Big Bud heritage with sativa base
Double D comes from the cross Viking '90 x Big Bud '93, pollinated with the K.C. 636 male, a proprietary line from the Dutch seed bank. The result is a sativa-dominant plant, designed to combine the structure of sativas with a relatively contained flowering period.
The clearest contribution from the Viking line is its hardiness. From it, it inherits its resistance to diseases, pests and mold, an advantage in humid climates and in grows where the plant cannot be monitored daily.
Regarding structure, it develops tall, thin and resistant plants, with green-colored colas and long, narrow leaves with a clear sativa appearance. The stems are firm for their size, so the plant supports well the large buds it forms in the final stretch.
In cultivation: simple and generous in production
Double D is one of the easiest varieties to grow in the K.C. Brains catalog. Its stability makes it a recommended option for beginners. It adapts to indoors and outdoors, in pots, in soil or in hydroponic systems, without requiring special conditions.
Indoors it completes flowering in 9 to 11 weeks and reaches a height of approximately 170 cm, with productions of up to 300 grams. Due to this height, it's advisable to plan the growing space well and the distance to lighting from the photoperiod change.
Outdoors it shows its full potential. It can exceed 3.5 meters in height and yield up to 1500 grams per plant, with a flowering period of 9 to 10 weeks. Harvest arrives in late September, a reasonable schedule for a sativa. Its resistance to mold helps reach the end of the cycle without setbacks.
Flavor and effect: spicy, resinous and potent
At the beginning of flowering the flowers barely release any smell. As the buds fatten, a pleasant and slightly spicy aroma appears that becomes more intense as the weeks pass. It's a discreet profile during much of the cycle, something many growers value.
During maturation the buds become covered with thick and shiny trichomes, a sign of a good resin load. The result is large and showy flowers, true to the "giant buds" reputation that accompanies this variety.
The effect is powerful and intense, and places Double D among the strongest varieties from K.C. Brains. The cannabinoid level depends partly on cultivation: the better the plant is cared for, the higher its content usually is, ranging between 15% and 20% THC.
