GMO, history of this cannabis variety
This is a genetic line resulting from the cross between Chemdog and Girl Scout Cookies. It was originally developed by Mamiko Seeds, with the GMO phenotype selected by Skunkmasterflex.
Chemdog parental, very resinous genetics, is also known as Chemdawg D/Chemdog D and Chem D. It offers a petrol aroma with sour fruity undertones. The other parental is the famous Girl Scout Cookies (Forum Cut) or "GSC", also very generous in trichomes, with a sweet and earthy taste with pastry notes.
GMO aka G.M.O., is also known by Garlic Cookies, as some dispensaries in the US refused to use the name GMO as it could be confused with the acronym "Genetically Modified Organism". This prevented any confusion among their consumer patients.
GMO is certainly not a genetic modification at all and far from being a laboratory plant species that produces transgenic seeds.
GMO, cultivation, and behaviour
This plant of 80/20 Indica Sativa genetics, presents more the appearance of a slightly hybrid. It has a medium internodal distance structure, with rather elongated buds with occasional purple hues.
It is a quite easy to cultivate strain that adapts well to various canopy optimisation techniques.
The harvest is ready in about 8-9 weeks of flowering indoors, with a yield of up to 400-550g/m2. Outdoors, it is ready in October in the Northern hemisphere, with a yield between 350-700g per plant.
It produces a thick resin layer, making it ideal for extract and concentrate enthusiasts.
GMO, flavours, and effects
GMO offers a surprising organoleptic mix with strong garlic and ground coffee notes over an earthy, sweet, and fruity base, as well as petrol and pastry notes.
It produces a potent and intense high that starts with a euphoric cerebral effect that progresses to a physical relaxation that can last for hours. It presents a THC level of up to 27-33%.
Experienced users may find it useful for pain relief, stress management and mood enhancement.
