Polenet is a robust and durable cylinder made of PVC, equipped with lids on both the top and bottom. Approximately one-third of the way down the cylinder, it includes a 130-micron metal mesh that separates the pollen from the plant material. Beneath this mesh is the kief collection area.
Polenet resin extractor separates trichomes from plant matter through manual, mechanical extraction, requiring no solvents and completing the process in just seconds. This method works well with lower-quality flowers and resin-containing manicure trim, which should be as dry as possible for the best results in producing homemade dry hash.
How to make Kief with a Hash Shaker:
- Place the trimmed leaves or buds into the upper chamber of the Polenet. The drier the material, the better, as this aids in the detachment of trichomes.
- Place the Polenet, securely closed, into the freezer for 15 to 30 minutes to freeze the trichome glands. Do not exceed this time, as excessive cold may introduce moisture into the Pollen Shaker, making trichome separation more difficult.
- Remove the Polenet from the freezer and shake it vigorously for 1 to 3 minutes. Begin with gentle shakes and periodically check for trichome release while ensuring no plant matter passes through the mesh. If plant matter appears, most trichomes will already have detached.
- Collect the THC-rich trichomes from the bottom of the Polenet using a small spatula or similar tool.
This type of hash, or kief, is highly concentrated in THC and can be used in various ways: sprinkle it on top of a joint, press it to make hash, or add it to food or drinks, according to your preference.
After extraction, it is essential to clean the Polenet thoroughly with alcohol or alcohol wipes to maintain the metal mesh in optimal condition for future extractions.
