Genetics: Acai x Black Cherry Funk

Blood Moon Gelato is the result of crossing Acai (a celebrated phenotype of Gelato) and Black Cherry Funk, a combination of Black Cherry Soda with Space Queen. The Acai side (also known as Açaí) provides the creamy, sweet base characteristic of the Gelato family, while Black Cherry Funk introduces dark fruit, funky character and elevated potency. The result is an indica-dominant hybrid with estimated THC levels between 20 and 26%, with 22% being the most common figure. CBD is practically negligible.

Indoor and outdoor cultivation

Indoors, Blood Moon Gelato completes its flowering in 8 to 10 weeks and produces compact, resinous buds. Yields are in the medium range, with values from 400 g/m2. Its manageable structure and easy-going character make it compatible with training techniques such as SCROG, which can help optimize production. It's a recommended variety even for growers with little experience.

Outdoors, harvest takes place in early October, with more than satisfactory yields, close to half a kilo of dry flower per plant under optimal conditions.
