Information on Discolo Garden Insecticide
Discolo Jardín contains Pyriproxyfen 10% as its active ingredient, a growth regulator insecticide (IGR) designed to stop the life cycle of mealybugs and whitefly. It acts by contact and ingestion and offers high persistence, allowing pest control with few applications. Suitable for professional gardening, ornamentals and greenhouses, and used in hemp cultivation at stages not intended for consumption (growth).
Discolo growth regulator insecticide (IGR) for mealybugs and whitefly
Discolo is a professional insecticide formulated with Pyriproxyfen 10% w/v (100 g/L) and presented as an Emulsifiable Concentrate. It belongs to the group of Insect Growth Regulators (IGR), products capable of blocking the development of pests in their juvenile stages and preventing insects from becoming fertile adults.
An insecticide designed to break the pest cycle, especially due to its effectiveness against sucking insects, in particular:
- Mealybugs (all their variants, cottony, armored, etc.)
- Whitefly (species of the genera Trialeurodes and Bemisia)
Its use is most effective when applied at early larval stages, when Pyriproxyfen blocks molting and prevents insects from reaching adulthood, drastically reducing the population and preventing reproduction.
Due to its mode of action, it is recommended to apply Discolo on hemp only during the vegetative stage, when plants have not yet entered the flowering phase.
Dosage and directions for use
- Permitted doses vary according to the type of crop (see technical data sheet). For general use, the indicative dose is between 0.375–0.75 ml per liter of water.
- Spray thoroughly covering both sides of the leaves, always following the safety protocol (mask, gloves, goggles...)
- Apply at the onset of larval appearance or when the first adults are detected.
- In most crops, one application per season is sufficient thanks to its high persistence.
