Transcript of LEC Lumatek Aurora CMH 315W videotutorial :
Aurora, the smallest of the Lumatek LEC/CMH technology family. Here it is, 315W.
The unit consists of 3 parts, as in most of the familiar lights: ballast, reflector and light bulb. In this case, it has a 3,100ºK bulb, with a single end, but CMH type, which, as you already know has a much broader spectrum.
The reflector is small, with a very high refractive index (about 95%) and the ballast, apart from being blue like all Lumateks, you can see that it is very easy to connect. Simply connecting this plug to 220v.
In the front of the ballast we basically have 3 things: 2 holes that are Mini Jack female connectors and the classic power regulator, dimmable, which goes from 50 to 100% power. You see that the light rises progressively and not at once, which is precisely so it doesn’t stress the plants. And what have we here? These holes.
They’re for connecting these Mini Jack plugs, like headphones, to a digital controller. At one end we could connect it to the ballast and at the other to the digital controller, and from here we could take another cable to a 2nd or 3rd ballast to control them all in series.
With the digital controller we will be able to control, apart from the timing, also the sunrise/twilight simulation of the light so that the plants, as we have said before, don’t get stressed.
AURORA, the 315W CMH from Lumatek. Small, with proven results. And because I really like it, I’ll take it down and take it home with me... Okay, see you later!
