Alchimia presents the feminised version of the Sensi Seeds variety, Regular Mexican Sativa , a sativa-dominant plant well-suited to indoor cultivation, and also a great performer outdoors, adapting well to diverse conditions.
Mexican Sativa originated in a Oaxacan landrace line, crossed with Durban's hardy African Sativa genetics and a Pakistani hash plant to improve it's resistance to cold, shorten flowering and increase production. The offspring were finally backcrossed to the Oaxacan mother to intensify and fix the original Mexican character.
This 70% Sativa variety develops vigorously, and can quadruple it's size stretching in flower: for this reason Sensi Seeds recommend employing a short growth period or employing some form of training/pruning/SCROG (Screen of Green) to control height and optimise production indoors, where it usually needs 70 days of flowering to mature.
When cultivated outdoors and planted in the ground, Mexican Sativa can easily exceed 2 metres in height. It grows fast and strong and is great for colder climates, being highly resistant to moisture and mould thanks to its open flower structure.
According to Sensi Seeds, three phenotypes can be observed in this variety, two showing Sativa dominance and a rare third, more indica phenotype with more compact flowers.
Combining an aroma of sandalwood and pine on a floral background, Mexican Sativa will delight Sativa lovers searching for a change, something different from the classic Haze flavours. The effect is dynamic and joyful, suitable for daytime use and for peforming physical activities according to the information provided by the Dutch seed bank.
