Super Silver Haze is widely known in the cannabis scene, as many lovers of strong Sativa dominant strains have tried this variety, also known as "SSH".

This pioneering strain is a classic among classics. It has contributed to the progress of cannabis breeding thanks to the passion of renowned growers such as Nevil and Shantibaba, among others.

A variety originally developed by the Haze Brothers in the early 70's in Santa Cruz, California. Years later, the pure Haze was brought to Amsterdam. This 100% Sativa strain with genetics from Mexico, Colombia, India and Thailand was too unstable and wild. Moreover, it was a very tardy variety to harvest outdoors in Holland's latitudes. Its exuberant growth also made it difficult to cultivate indoors.

Later, it was carefully cultivated by several breeders using the best genetics available at the time. Thus, they succeeded in capturing its unusual potential and tamed it sufficiently, while maintaining its psychedelic psychoactive properties with a clear, unrestrained and energetic effect. They also made it suitable for indoor growing conditions.

Super Silver Haze was the result of a female NL#5 x Haze being selected from over a thousand plants, then crossed with a Skunk x Haze male. This gave rise to an impressive strain, 25% Northern Lights, 25% Skunk and 50% Haze. It quickly became very popular and was awarded first place in the Cannabis Cup three years in a row, in 1997, 1998 and 1999.

Oldman Silver Haze 98, the old legends never die

Old School Genetics presents this version selected during the SSH golden age, also called Super Silver Haze 98 S1.

It is a remarkable variety noted for most phenotypes expressing fruitier Skunk flavours with peach and mango hints, but still with an earthy Haze background with hardwood and incense undertones.

The harvest is ready in about 80 days of flowering indoors, while outdoors the harvest is ready in late October. Some phenotypes with more Haze tendency may take 1-2 weeks longer to reach optimum maturity.

It is a strong and vigorous plant with a well-ramified structure. Despite its tendency to grow vertically, it is manageable even for a Haze. That is, as long as its performance is controlled at the beginning, as its pre-flowering stretching is close to x5. Considering this factor, it is a quite easy strain to grow.

Oldman Silver Haze 98 has a 75/25 Sativa Indica genetics, with a good calyx/leaf ratio that makes trimming easier. It is very productive, in indoor cultivation offers a yield that can exceed 600g per m2, while outdoors the plant can surpass 1 kg per plant. It produces golden buds with trichomes ideal for making extractions of the highest quality, certainly to delight for Old School strains lovers.
