Information on Papaya
Genetics and parentals of Papaya
This Papaya is a Papaya S1 obtained from the celebrated Poochie cut, starting from the original cross Citral #13 x Ice #2. Its origin is linked to Pink House (Colorado), and the Papaya Poochie phenotype was later worked through sexual reversion to give rise to hybrids such as Papaya Cake or Poon Tang Pie. The result is an indica-leaning polyhybrid, described as a stable and uniform genetic that has become a base lineage for numerous elite crosses.
Indoor and outdoor cultivation
Indoors, Papaya completes its flowering in 65-70 days and reaches an average height of about 80-120 cm. Its branched structure favors light penetration and air circulation, which translates into high production, up to 600 g/m² according to sources. It is a plant with predictable behavior and vigorous growth, suitable for both novice and experienced growers.
Outdoors it is harvested in early to mid-October, potentially exceeding 180 cm in height and yielding up to 800 g per plant under optimal conditions. It adapts well to warm and temperate climates. It should be noted that this is a very resinous variety, with dense and compact buds, especially interesting for those seeking quality material for extractions.
Aromas, flavors and effects
In aroma, Papaya displays a profile of very ripe tropical fruit, with marked sweetness, a curious fermented lactic nuance, an earthy base and a slight citrus touch. On the palate it confirms these notes: overripe papaya, tropical creaminess, a soft sweetness and citrus accents over an earthy background that make it unmistakable.
Its effects are physical: muscular relaxation, progressive sedation and a pleasant sense of calm, accompanied by a slight mild mental euphoria. Due to this character, sources place it in afternoon or evening moments and physical rest, although some also mention a certain mental clarity for creative activity.
