Coming from the slopes of Acapulco, Mexico, this seed recovers the best of a Central American landrace genetics carefully selected and stabilized for the modern grower.

Genetics and origin: Acapulco landrace

Acapulco Gold doesn't emerge from a conventional hybrid, but from a rigorous selection of landrace genetic material originating from the Acapulco region (Mexico). Barney's Farm has worked this material until obtaining a stable expression with 70% sativa predominance, thus achieving the characteristic vigor of tropical sativas but with a somewhat more manageable profile. Its regular format also makes it a valuable tool for breeding projects and genetic preservation, as it allows selecting both males and females to work with reproductive purposes.

Cultivation: sativa vigor and top-level production

Indoors, Acapulco Gold requires some patience, its flowering is in a range of 60 to 70 days depending on the source consulted. Plants reach between 100 and 110 cm in height in a controlled environment, although they can express themselves with more stature if given freedom. It's recommended to apply Low Stress Training (LST) techniques to optimize light exposure on lower branches and maximize the harvest, which can reach up to 500–700 g/m². Outdoors, the variety displays its full sativa potential, plants can reach between 150 and 200 cm in height, with a harvest expected for mid-October and productions of up to 1,500 g/plant.

Due to its sativa component, it requires a minimum of experience in height management, but it's not a particularly complicated variety for a grower with some experience.
