Opinions about Acapulco Gold and questions

Joel 15-09-2020
so i have Acapulco Gold seeds from Barney's Farm on stand by, to be grown in a tent. Was just wondering, after sprouting, Would it be advisable to immediately put under 12/12,due to the sativa, or will i be ok to allow it some vegg time?

Hi Joel, thanks for your comment and question. I've read some conflicting reports about this variety from Barney's. Some say it's a short, stocky plant with dense buds, i.e. not very Sativa at all, while others say they've found a phenotype that's more stretchy with loose, fluffy buds, more typical of a Sativa. I would guess that it's been hybridised with something a little more stocky and Indica-leaning to make the variety more suitable for indoor growing. With all that in mind, I think I'd be tempted to try giving them a couple of weeks vegging time to maximise the potential yields. I hope that helps, best wishes and happy growing!

Hi Danny,

Sure, most Sativas perform well in humid climates. Here you have a list of mould resistant strains.

Saludos!
