Genetics and Origin of Skunk #11

Skunk #11 is not a modern cross, but rather a stable selection based on the legendary original Skunk #1 by "Sam the Skunkman", a result of the Skunk breeding program that Dutch Passion has been developing since the 1980s. Skunk #1 is itself a polyhybrid of three landrace varieties: Afghani, Acapulco Gold, and Colombian Gold. From this heritage comes its balanced hybrid character with marked sativa dominance.

Indoor and Outdoor Cultivation

Indoors, Skunk #11 offers a medium flowering time of around 9 weeks, with phenotypes that can range from 7 to 11. It tends to stretch quite a bit during flowering and develops large, heavy buds that require support toward the end of the cycle. It is very resistant to mold and diseases, and is suitable for SCROG. It's worth noting that its smell is very pungent, so a good carbon filter is recommended.

Outdoors, it reaches a considerable height (between 1.8 and 3.5 m depending on the source) and is harvested around the first half of November. It prefers sun, heat, and low humidity, so it's not the ideal choice for very northern or temperate climates. Overall it's considered a productive variety and of easy difficulty, also suitable for greenhouse cultivation.

Aroma, Flavor and Effects

The aroma of Skunk #11 is the classic old-school Skunk: very pungent and intense, with earthy, herbal and spicy notes (Shiva-type), as well as hints of pine and cheese. On the palate, an earthy and spicy flavor predominates, with phenotypes that provide cheesy touches and others with more sour notes, resulting in a complex and potent profile.

With a medium THC level (around 8% according to sources with numerical figures), its effects are those of a balanced hybrid, described as a "medium high": they relax the body while stimulating and uplifting the mind, without being incapacitating. This makes it a pleasant and sociable variety, suitable for daytime and nighttime use according to Dutch Passion, ideal for moments of relaxation without losing activity.
