CVault user guide: drying and curing
The drying and curing process is essential for achieving a high-quality harvest. To optimise your results, CVault recommends the following steps:
- Proper drying:
- Drying duration: Extend drying to 10-14 days to remove impurities.
- Cultivation texture: It’s preferable for the cannabis to be crunchy rather than damp by the end of drying.
- Moisture target: Aim for a relative humidity (RH) level between 49% and 54%.
- Loading the CVault:
- Filling: Fill the CVault to the top with the dried, manicured harvest to displace oxygen and ensure optimal storage.
- Appropriate size: Select the correct size CVault for the quantity of your harvest.
- Dryness test: To ensure that your crop has the right level of dryness, follow these steps:
- Place your dried crop into the CVault.
- Position a hygrometer over the crop and secure the CVault latches.
- After 5 hours, open the CVault and check the humidity using the hygrometer. The aim is to maintain a humidity level between 49% and 54% RH.
- Humidity regulation:To maintain optimal humidity levels, Boveda humidity regulators are recommended for use inside the CVault’s stainless steel containers. The number of Boveda sachets required varies based on the size of the CVault:
- 5L CVault: 1 x 8g Boveda sachet.
- 0L CVault: 1 x 67g Boveda sachet.
- Curing Process:
- Days 1-5: Stabilisation: In the first few days, the Boveda sachet will adjust the moisture as needed. It’s recommended to open the CVault daily during this period to monitor stabilisation.
- Days 6-9: Stable Moisture Level: The crop will reach a stable relative humidity between 58% and 62%, depending on the Boveda sachet used.
- Days 10-30: Curing: With a constant RH between 58% and 62%, the crop will properly cure, enhancing its quality and flavour over time.
*Additional information: Boveda sachets contain a natural formula of salt and water, free from chemicals. Once the sachet hardens, it is no longer effective and must be replaced.
