Information on K.C. 39
K.C. 39 feminized is one of the classic genetics from K.C. Brains, a predominantly indica hybrid born from the collaboration between the Dutch breeder and Spanish selectors. It gives off a citrus aroma with a hash background, reaches up to 20% THC and offers a relaxing effect of a physical nature. It is ideal for growers looking for a simple, resistant and highly productive plant, both indoors and outdoors.
Genetics: K.C. 606 with Spanish blood
The origin of K.C. 39 dates back to some Spanish seeds from 1996 that K.C. Brains crossed with his K.C. 606 from 1999, used as a parent in many of the seed bank's hybrids such as Brains Escape. The specific name of the Spanish variety has not been made public, but it is known that they were chosen for their potency. K.C. 606, for its part, is a hybrid with marked indica dominance that provides stability, balanced growth and a long-lasting effect.
The result is a mostly indica and stable hybrid, with dark green plants that tend to develop in a bushy and branched manner when conditions are good. Its track record earned it second place at the Highlife Cup 2005 in the outdoor category.
In cultivation: resistant and high yielding
Indoors, K.C. 39 remains compact and usually doesn't exceed 120 cm in height, which makes it easy to manage in medium-sized grow tents and rooms. Its flowering lasts between 7 and 9 weeks, and production is around 200-300 g/m², depending on the growing system and conditions. It performs well both in pots and in soil.
Outdoors it changes scale and can reach between 2 and 3 meters in height and produce up to 1000 g per plant. The harvest arrives between late September and mid-October, depending on climate and latitude. It should be placed in a sheltered location with good exposure to midday sun to squeeze out all its potential.
One of its strong points is its rusticity, it is a plant highly resistant to pests, fungi and diseases, an extra guarantee in humid autumns. This tolerance, together with its vigorous growth and stability, makes it an option suitable for beginners looking for a reliable first harvest.
Flavor and effect: citrus, hash and physical relaxation
During flowering, K.C. 39 perfumes the grow with a citrus and hash aroma that gains intensity as the buds mature. The flowers end up large, dense and covered with white pistils and sticky resin. On the palate, citrus notes predominate over an earthy base reminiscent of traditional hash.
Its effect responds to its indica heritage: a relaxing sensation of marked body character, heavy and calm, more appropriate for the end of the day than for moments of activity. With a THC content of up to 20%, it is a potent variety that should be enjoyed in moderation.
