Information on Pink Banana Runtz
Pink Banana Runtz by Dutch Passion is a limited edition feminized variety that represents the most productive and refined version of modern Runtz genetics. This indica-dominant American hybrid is part of the exclusive "Antonio, by Dutch Passion" collection, a line created to offer special genetics with enhanced yield, stability, and carefully crafted terpene profiles.
The main attraction of Pink Banana Runtz is its ability to produce noticeably larger buds than Runtz, something unusual in this genetic family. Added to this is easy cultivation, high resin production, well-defined sweet and creamy flavors, and a powerful, long-lasting effect. An ideal variety for both beginner growers and experienced users seeking premium quality without complications. Additionally, each pack of 5 seeds includes a bonus feminized Sour Fruit Tartare F1 seed as a limited edition gift. Now available at Alchimia.
Genetics of Pink Banana Runtz by Dutch Passion
Pink Banana Runtz was born from the cross between Banana Z and Gelato #33, two top-tier American genetics that contribute the best of their respective lines. Banana Z, developed by TerpHogz, the original breeder of the "Z" genetics, is known for its intensely sweet and fruity aromatic profile, with clear notes of ripe banana, tropical fruit, and very high resin production.
For its part, Gelato #33 brings hybrid balance, high potency, and a compact, well-formed floral structure. This genetic is responsible for the creamy character, the sweet ice cream-like background, and the overall stability of the plant. Antonio's work with this cross focused especially on improving flower size, one of the weaknesses of many commercial Runtz, which tend to produce small, low-volume buds.
The result is a modern, well-stabilized genetic with a clear improvement in yield, without sacrificing the aromatic quality or potency expected from a next-generation Runtz.
Growing Pink Banana Runtz
Pink Banana Runtz is a very easy-to-grow variety, suitable even for growers with little experience. During the vegetative phase, it develops compact, bushy, and well-branched plants, which facilitates height control and space management. When flowering begins, it enters a notable but manageable stretch phase, allowing the main colas to rise above the canopy and receive maximum light intensity.
It adapts perfectly to indoor cultivation, where it really shines when grown under powerful LED lights with balanced, preferably organic, nutrition. It works very well in SOG (Sea of Green) and SCROG systems, although in this case it's recommended to extend the growth phase slightly and completely fill the screen before switching the photoperiod to 12/12.
The buds present a hybrid structure: dense and compact, but without being excessively hard, which gives them better resistance to humidity and reduces the risk of fungal problems. Outdoors and in greenhouses, it also offers good results, especially in warm, dry climates. Flowering time is between 8 and 9 weeks, with an XL yield. Its outdoor harvest occurs in early October.
Flavors, aromas and effects
During flowering, Pink Banana Runtz develops elongated buds that become literally covered in trichomes. From the third or fourth week, resin production increases noticeably, and by the end of the cycle, the flowers are extremely sticky and aromatic.
Its terpene profile is sweet, fruity and creamy, with clear notes of banana, tropical fruit, sweet apple, and ice cream. The aroma is not excessively invasive, but more experienced users will appreciate complex and refined nuances. The dominant terpenes are caryophyllene, linalool, limonene, humulene, and myrcene.
As for effects, it offers a powerful and long-lasting high, with THC levels that usually exceed 20% and can reach or surpass 25% under optimal conditions. The effect combines a slight mental euphoria with deep body relaxation, being ideal for experienced users and for enjoying during rest periods.
Gift: Sour Fruit Tartare F1 – Limited Edition
With each pack of 5 feminized Pink Banana Runtz seeds, Dutch Passion includes a free feminized Sour Fruit Tartare F1 seed, randomly selected from phenotypes #8 or #16.
Sour Fruit Tartare F1 is a very special genetic developed from years of selection, starting with a cup-winning Fruit Tartare #4 clone crossed with Rosso Corsa, and subsequently refined by Antonio through crosses with a powerful purple mother from Sour Trop BX1 (Sour Tropicana Cookies).
The result is a sativa-dominant hybrid with an extremely acidic and pungent aromatic profile, with notes reminiscent of cleaning products, intense chemicals, passion fruit, guava, red fruit, and blueberries, potentially leaning toward red wine or fermented fruit depending on the phenotype. Its flowering is around 9 weeks, with medium-high potency (THC around 15 - 20%) and a relaxed, calm effect, where terpenes are the real star.
