The Grapefruit strain, the pollen-receiving female, is an old cutting highly valued by the Barcelona cannabis community. Some seedbanks later included it in their catalogues. Philosopher Seeds has revived this clone, hybridising it with the US genetics Jet Fuel Gelato.
Grapefruit has strong Sativa effects and a powerful, extra-sweet fruity aroma with hints of pineapple. It is highly productive, fast, and easy to grow, with an abundant terpene profile, making it a very fragrant plant with a distinct, unforgettable scent. It also produces excellent hashish. Its lineage likely includes the famous Cinderella 99 (C99) by Brothers Grimm.
The reverse female and pollen donor is Jet Fuel Gelato, a creation of Chris Lynch, founder of Compound Genetics. This strain combines Jet Fuel (Aspen OG x High Country Diesel) with Gelato, producing dense buds with heavy resin coverage and creamy Gelato aromas, accented by petrol/gas. It also delivers excellent extraction returns.
Grapefuel Gelato cultivation
Grapefuel Gelato thrives indoors and outdoors, adapting well to greenhouses. It exhibits strong vigour and secondary ramification. Once flowering starts, it continues to stretch until flower formation. It benefits from light, spaced fertilisations without excess. Staking branches or applying training techniques is highly recommended, as the flowers are large and dense.
This strain is easy to cultivate and requires minimal care, making it ideal for beginners. It yields over 500g per m2 indoors and up to 550g per plant outdoors.
