To create what they are already calling their "strain of the year", Barney's Farm began with one of the latest megastar strains from the Californian cannabis scene: Runtz. This hugely popular and highly sought-after hybrid is a cross of Zkittlez and Gelato that was created by the Bay Area's world-famous Cookie Fam. The green and purple buds of Runtz have an exuberant resin production and a terpene profile that is as complex as it is sweet, with earthy touches and sour, spicy notes of pine. The effect is long-lasting, physically relaxing with a happy cerebral high that activates the mind while calming the body.

To make the other side of the hybrid, Barney's Farm took the productive, high-THC variety Layer Cake (Wedding Cake x GMO/TK Skunk, created by Swamp Boys Seeds) and crossed it with their own Cookies x Skunk #1, resulting in a high-yielding and easy to grow cannabis plant with high-quality flavours.

The result of this high-class cross is a well-balanced indica/sativa hybrid with sweet aromas of tropical fruit, herbs and spices, accompanied by a citric, earthy and spicy flavour with potent diesel notes. The effect when consumed is powerful on the physical level, relaxing the body while the mind is invigorated and uplifted, allowing creativity to flow.

Runtz x Layer Cake grows with good vigour, reaching 100-130cm tall indoors and up to 2m outdoors. Plants cultivated indoors will be ready to chop after 65-70 days of flowering and will produce up to 600-650g per m2 in ideal conditions. Outdoor harvest will come in the first or second week of October and will reward the grower with up to 2.5kg of sticky homegrown buds per plant.
