Genetics and Origin of Shaman

Shaman is an F1 hybrid born from the cross between a Purple #1 male and a Skunk female, a combination that Dutch Passion officially labels as "Purple#1 X Skunk" and was formerly known as "Purple/Skunk". This union provides marked hybrid vigor and a clearly sativa dominance, with only a small proportion of indica genes. The result is a robust plant in which about half of the specimens develop beautiful colorations ranging from pale pink to almost black purple.

Indoor and Outdoor Cultivation

Indoors, Shaman flowers on average in about 8 weeks (with an approximate range of 7 to 9 weeks) and reaches heights between 90 and 150 cm, with yields around 400 g/m². It is an easy-to-grow variety suitable for beginners, which responds very well to techniques such as topping, fimming, supercropping or SCROG.

Where it really shines is outdoors, the environment for which it was designed. Harvests arrive in late September or early October at Dutch latitudes, with plants that grow from 1 to 2 meters (up to 3 m with good pre-growth) and yields of several hundred grams per plant; experienced growers can achieve between 500 and 750 g per plant. Additionally, it is very resistant to mold, bud rot and mites, and tolerates rain and high humidity well thanks to its open floral structure.

Aromas, Flavors and Effects

In aroma, Shaman displays a fresh, sweet, spicy, fruity and floral profile, with sporadic sour and piney notes. On the palate, sweet and spicy nuances predominate, although some phenotypes show a more acidic touch and others a more woody or piney character; generally, green phenotypes are somewhat sweeter than purple ones.

Its effects offer a clearly sativa high, more cerebral than physical, invigorating and social in character, active and slightly creative, with room for reflective thoughts. This stimulating sensation is accompanied by a relaxing background component, with intensity and duration described as medium. Its THC level is in a medium range, making it an ideal choice for daytime use, conversation and social contexts.
