Rockwool slabs are an ideal substrate for hydroponics. Rockwool is an inert substance so nutrients must be added to the water when irrigating.
How to use the rockwool slab:
- Never remove the slab's protective plastic.
- Make a cut in the shape of a cross and cut a wad of Rockwool (7.5 to 10 cm in diameter) taping it to the slab, with adhesive tape.
- Using a cutter, make a cut along the underside of the slab to promote drainage.
- Its measures (100 x 10 cm) allow growing 4-5 plants per slab.
Maintenance of the rockwool slab:
Given the continuous absorption of nutrients, it is very advisable to clean the slabs with enzyme solution to reduce the electroconductivity (EC) of this growing medium.
