Information
Guano Diffusion Zeolite is of the Chabasite type. It is a natural substrate of volcanic origin, ideal for bonsai, cactus, arid plants and cannabis gardens. Its microporous structure offers a great capacity to retain nutrients, trace elements, microorganisms and water, improving the fertility and stability of the substrate, now available in Alchimia Zeolite by Guanodiffusion.
What is Guano Diffusion Zeolite?
Zeolite is a microporous rock of volcanic origin, composed of aluminosilicates with an enormous contact surface that gives it multiple applications. The Chabasite variety, offered by Guanodiffusion, is one of the most appreciated in agriculture thanks to its high absorption and cation exchange capacity.
Main uses in agriculture and gardening
Incorporating between 10% and 15% zeolite in horticultural substrates significantly improves nutrient and water retention, reducing leaching losses and increasing plant availability. Its use is highly recommended in orchards, applying between 600 g and 1 kg per square metre.
It can also be used as a pure substrate for bonsai, cacti and arid plants, providing an aerated and stable environment for healthy and long-lasting growth.
Other notable uses
Zeolite is also used in aquariums and filtration systems, where it acts as a support for beneficial algae and regulates nitrate levels. Its filtration capacity (5µ) is far superior to traditional sand (40µ), making it a more efficient and sustainable alternative.
Advantages of Chabasite zeolites
- Superior absorption capacity (47% capillary volume, compared to 28-39% of other varieties).
- High cation exchange capacity (166 meq/100 g).
- Rich in essential cations such as potassium, magnesium and calcium.
- Improves water and nutrient retention in any substrate.
- Stabilises the growing medium and protects against nutrient losses.
- Granulometries: 0,7 - 2 mm
