Entomite-M by Koppert contains 10,000 units of the predatory mite Stratiolaelaps Scimitus. This animal biologically fights the substrate fly and thrips, both of which are vectors of diseases and viruses in plants. It is now available in our catalogue at Alchimia.

Endomite-M, against thrips and substrate flies

The predatory mite Stratiolaelaps Scimitus, contained in Entomite-M, lives on the soil surface at a depth of 1-4cm. It feeds on pupae and eggs of soil flies and thrips among other organisms harmful to plants.

Due to the depth at which it lives, it reaches areas of the substrate that chemical plant protection products cannot reach.

Koppert Endomite-M, preventive in biological control

The best way to use Stratiolaelaps Scimitus is as a preventive, introducing it into the topsoil (also in pots and their base) to fight against substrate flies and thrips. This predatory mite reproduces and spreads and stays alive during the whole growing cycle, controlling and reducing the thrips and flies slowly but steadily.

Koppert Entomite-M - How do I use it?

• Shake the container
• Spread Entomite-M evenly on the substrate and pot base (not on the plant) at a rate of 500-1000 individuals per m2.
• More effective in substrate rich in organic matter and not very humid with minimum temperatures of 15ºC.
• Store the product at a temperature of 10-15°C in a dark place in a horizontal position for a maximum of 48 hours.
• Never apply Endomite-M in the planting hole or near the stem.
