what is liquid mycelium and why is it so practical?

Liquid mycelium is a liquid culture containing live mycelium of Psilocybe cubensis mushroom varieties. Unlike traditional spores in stamps or syringes, this format is active and ready to be inoculated directly onto sterile substrates, reducing incubation times and improving the success rate.

Main uses of liquid mycelium

It is designed to inoculate prepared substrate bags or sterilised grains. You only need to follow minimum cleaning conditions, and you can enjoy a faster and more uniform culture.

Store the syringe in the refrigerator between 2 and 8 ºC. Before inoculation, allow it to come to room temperature and shake well to distribute the mycelium evenly. Use 2 - 5 cc depending on the size of the substrate and make sure to work in a clean and sterile environment to avoid contamination.

Key benefits of liquid mycelium

  • Faster colonisationrate (visible in 7-14 days).
  • Easy to use: just shake, inject and wait.
  • Significant reduction of contamination.
  • Cold storage up to 6 months.
  • Ideal for substrate bags, flasks or culture kits.

Variety and availability

At AlchimiaWeb you will find liquid mycelium from popular strains of Psilocybe Cubensis, carefully selected for their resistance, potency and ease of cultivation. Some of the most sought after strains include Golden Teacher, B+, McKennaii, among others.

Frequently asked questions about Liquid culture

What is the difference between liquid mycelium and spores?

Liquid mycelium is already active , so it colonizes faster and more evenly than spores. It's also easier to use for beginners.

How long does it take for mycelium to grow?

Typically, 7 to 14 days . Some strains may take up to a month depending on temperature, humidity, and substrate conditions.

How much substrate can I inoculate with a syringe of liquid mycelium?

With a 10 ml syringe you can inoculate between 2000 and 4000 ml of substrate , depending on the dose you apply.
Ideally, you should use 2 to 5 ml per unit , so you can divide it into several bags or jars without any problem.
