Mazar regular from Dutch Passion is one of the most renowned indica-dominant varieties in the Dutch catalogue. Mazar genetics: Afghan roots and Dutch vigour

Mazar is an F1 cross between an Afghani originating from the Mazar-i-Sharif region and a Skunk #1, two parents celebrated for their homogeneity. The result is an indica-dominant hybrid with THC levels around 15-20%, capable of reaching close to 20% under optimal conditions. The uniformity of both lineages guarantees stable and consistent offspring, something rare in regular seeds and highly valued by both beginner growers and those wishing to select quality mother or father specimens.

Growing Mazar indoors and outdoors

Indoors, Mazar completes its flowering in 8-9 weeks, although some phenotypes may require up to 9-10. It develops a compact Christmas tree-type structure with robust lateral branches and a contained stretch of 2-3 weeks after switching to 12/12. Production ranges between 400 and 600 g/m², and it is compatible with SOG and SCROG techniques. Temperature should be kept below 25-27°C with low humidity, and support should be provided for heavy buds in the final weeks. From the fourth week of flowering the aroma intensifies greatly, so a good carbon filter is essential.

Outdoors, harvest takes place in early October in warm or temperate climates, with yields of 400 to 1000 g/plant. Mazar tolerates cooler temperatures than many other varieties, but its dense buds make it vulnerable to high humidity; in rainy areas it is preferable to grow it in a greenhouse. Its overall difficulty is low, as it accepts variations in feeding well, making it particularly suitable for growers with little experience.

Aromas, flavours and effects of Mazar

Mazar's aromatic profile is unmistakably Afghan, with earthy and penetrating hash-type terpenes mixing with notes of pine, incense and citrus nuances, rounded off with a sweet herbal and floral background. On the palate, flavours of pine and earth predominate with reminiscences of classic hashish and light fruity touches, a combination that faithfully reflects its Mazar-i-Sharif heritage.

The effect is powerful and long-lasting, with a marked body component that translates into deep relaxation and heaviness in the limbs, easily reaching the characteristic couch-lock. It also offers a cerebral component that balances the experience, making it suitable for moments of total rest and unhurried relaxation.
