Nirvana is a Dutch seed bank created in 1995 by its founder Mau, who before starting the seed bank worked as part of the team at Positronics, one of Amsterdam’s legendary grow shops, where he learnt to grow and was inspired to start his own seed bank.
Mau went on many trips around the world looking for seeds of the best strains available. After years of hard work cultivating, stabilising, and developing new cannabis strains, he ended up with an extensive range of genetics that allowed him to create first-rate crosses such as the famous Papaya, B-52, etc.
In 1995 Mau created Nirvana as a high-quality seed vendor, selling new and exciting hybrids, turning his project into an innovative company offering well made products with the intention of bringing new seeds and genetics to the global market and taking cannabis breeding to another level.
The needs of the customer are always at the centre of the Nirvana philosophy and the company is very proud of the team, which, in addition to CEOs Jan and Wilfred, also boasts highly experienced breeders, talented programmers, dedicated developers and packagers. The entire team is focussed on giving the customer an excellent after-sales service that, alongside the superb range of seeds, has become one of the main reasons why growers keep coming back to Nirvana, time after time.
Mau withdrew from the international cannabis sector, passing the baton to a new team to take charge of the seed bank in a highly professional way, ensuring that all Nirvana's customers could still get their favourite seeds. The team works very hard to maintain the highest standard of excellence, creating new strains and bringing new and different experiences to the market.
As the years passed and the Dutch laws grew restrictive, Nirvana decided to move to Spain and settle in here to be allow them to work without pressure, in a country that has undoubtedly become one of the world's most cannabis-friendly places.
In Nirvana's extensive catalogue we can find regular, feminised and autoflowering seeds, we can also enjoy old strains from when the bank first began back in 1995 with acclaimed and well-recognised strains like Papaya, B-52, Aurora Indica, Blue Mystic, Bubblelicious, Jock Horror, among many others.
In addition to the bank's early crosses, we can also find newly-created varieties using the latest US genetics such as: Zkittlez, Original Glue, ChemDog, Gelato, Girl Scout Cookies, Grease Monkey, etc.
We can also find strains that defined their era, leaving a permanent mark on the cannabis market but that are still highly popular choices in both indoor and outdoor gardens, for example Tangie, Amnesia Haze, Big Bud, Blue Cheese, and many more.
