Permanent Marker, originally from the USA, gained fame through Doja (California), but its creation is credited to JBeezy of Seed Junky Genetics. This marijuana strain is a three-way hybrid of Biscotti, Sherb BX, and Jealousy:

• Biscotti is a cross between Gelato #25 and Sour Florida OG, blending sweet, sugary biscuit notes with rainforest and Diesel undertones.
• Sherb BX is a backcross between Garlic Mushroom Cookies and Sunset Sherbet, delivering a cerebral, uplifting effect with tropical terpenes.
• Jealousy, a hybrid between Sherbet and Gelato #41, one of the most famous Gelato selections, features a creamy caramel flavour and remarkable potency.

Permanent Marker is highly Indica dominant, with a compact, broad-leaf structure resembling a spruce. Its ultra-compact flowers yield heavily, with large calyxes and amber stigmas coated in abundant resin. THC levels can reach 30%, with some individuals testing as high as 35%.

The strain’s signature aroma is characterised by spicy notes and a hint of mint, with Cookies and gassy terpenes taking centre stage. Its scent is reminiscent of classic permanent marker pens.

Lemon Cherry Gelato, the US parental, was chosen to pollinate Permanent Marker. This strain, also used in Lollipopz, is a three-way hybrid of Sherbet, Cookies, and Lemon Haze, created by Backpackboyz and a finalist in the High Times Medical Cup, Michigan.

Permanent Marker strain, high yields and faster flowering

Permanent Marker by Philosopher Seeds is versatile and adapts well to various cultivation methods, including outdoor, indoor, and greenhouse setups. It responds well to both organic and mineral fertilisers. With a medium/short internodal distance, the plant produces very long compact colas.

Indoors, it requires approximately 9 weeks of flowering to mature. Outdoors, it can be harvested during the first 10 days of October. The hybridisation with Lemon Cherry Gelato not only increases yield but also shortens ripening time.

Permanent Marker develops stunning foliage and flower colours when temperatures drop at the end of the flowering period, creating a striking contrast with its white resin, which covers both flowers and nearby leaves.

Indoor cultivation can produce yields exceeding 500g per m2, while outdoor plants in open ground can grow taller than 2.5m, yielding over 800g per plant. Trellising branches is highly recommended for support.
